Waiting On AMD HD 8000 GPU'S SEA ISLAND

AMD’s upcoming Sea lsland GPUs

AMD started its journey in graphic field by introducing Evergreen GPUs Radeon HD 5000 Series. It then launched its Northern Island GPUs Radeon HD 6000 Series after few years. Now recently AMD is introducing its Southern Island GPUs, AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series graphic card. Some close sources of AMD claimed that, AMD is planning for its next generation GPUs, Sea Island.

Reason behind the codename, Sea Islands

Unlike the rather vague codenames of Northern Islands and Southern Islands, Sea Islands will directly refer to the chain of islands on the USA’s Atlantic coast. And it is expected that the Sea Island GPUs will reach the market in late 2012 or early 2013.by saro meena

Although no details are revealed about the upcoming GPU except its code name, it is however expected to work on

• New TSMC 28nm process
• 2nd generation Graphic Core Next architecture
• Brand name, Radeon HD 8000 Series
